First Aid Cages & Work Boxes Are Available For Hire.
The Plant Yard has first aid cages & work boxes are for hire as part of its lifting cage hire range. An important point to note is that persons suspended from a crane shall only be accommodated in first aid cages or crane personnel work boxes designed for that purpose and the boxes and cages must come with current engineering certification, which we provide on hire.
The use of these crane personnel boxes, also known as a man boxes, shall be limited to those situations where it is necessary to elevate personnel to perform special tasks of short duration and where it is not practicable to use a scaffold or another specially designed device.
These same conditions apply in a first aid evacuation situation where an injured person might need to be safely evacuated to a treatment station. The person operating the crane must operate it from a dedicated position and not travel in the work box or first aid cage. The construction sites first aid cage must only be used for first aid rescue purposes only. If a work box is needed, then a separate cage must be used for the works.
